Women Embracing Smiling

Families come in many shapes and sizes.  Sometimes there are one or two adults and no children,  or one, two or more adults and a child or children.  Families can be related by blood or by other ties.

Whatever the case, clients come to see me because they want to:

  • move from one family form to another

  • preserve a particular family form

  • ensure that their wishes will be carried out in the event of their death

  • make certain that their wishes about personal care and property will be respected during their lifetimes, if a time comes when they are not able to make those types decisions on their own.

My family’s first approach involves listening, advising and ultimately assisting clients in attaining their desired outcomes.

My practice is informed by my breadth of knowledge and experience in previous careers in business, as a counsellor, as a professor and as a workshop creator and facilitator.  My educational background includes: an Honours B.A. in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education, a Masters in Counselling and a Bachelor of Laws. I currently volunteer my time to a group called Community Matters.  The focus of this group is to make the lives of seniors manageable while they age in their own communities.  We plan for and hold a variety of events including social gatherings and informative presentations for the residents of a condominium complex. We have also introduced a buddy system to assist community members in feeling connected.
